MONDAY MOTIVATION: 4 TIPS TO STAY HAPPY ON A MONDAY
Mondays should be the best day of the week, but sadly it never is! It is always either too slow or just too fast.
Monday anxiety may be due to the fact that most people have been conditioned to think that Monday is the worst day of the week, there are thousands of people who look forward to it because they love their jobs. The most common reason for hating Monday is that it follows two days of freedom and fun.
For most, however, that’s a sheer fantasy. Whether single or have family responsibilities, the weekend is chore time – cleaning, shopping, fixing and buying. So weekends are not all they’re cracked up to be. Still, there are plenty of moments where you can hang back to do whatever you want, which makes Monday a shock that’s difficult to deal with.
So if you fall into any of these categories here and 4 Tips for you to have a great Monday !
- Be Positive about Mondays- Obliterate negative feelings: If you believe Mondays are terrible, you might look for little things to prove your case. For example, the heavy downpour this morning and automatically think, “Yep, here we go, this whole day is going to be a disaster.” How can you enjoy your Monday if you think Mondays are doomed? Don’t program your brain to scan for the bad stuff. Change your outlook to view Monday as the start of your spectacular week.
- Plan for Monday from Sundays: I’ve said this before and I’ll always say it. What can you do on Sunday to make your Monday go more smoothly? Put outfits out for the kids ahead of time? Make a dish the night before to warm Monday morning? Make sure your fridge it stocked up? Review your calendar for the week on Sunday night and make your to-do list for the week. Then get a good night’s sleep so you can start the week refreshed.
- Identify why you don’t like Monday’s and fight it: If your stomach is in knots on Monday morning because you dread going to work, or you desperately wish you had a different job, it’s going to be tough to convince you to give your Monday some love. Do a gut check to identify the current obstacles to your everyday happiness and come up with a game plan to change your circumstances.
- Create Monday Momentum: Mondays are the blank slate of your week. What project can you tackle and accomplish on Monday to start your week super-charged? What would your day look like if you felt fabulous at the end of it? Maybe a good workout at the beginning of your day would set the momentum, or clean out your desk or a closet so you feel fresh and organized for the days ahead.
I really hope you do have a better Monday today! And next and the Monday after and every other Monday!!!!
Happy Monday 😀
