Children are extremely unpredictable. They say or do the weirdest things at any time they like. Initially, it might seem all cute and innocent until that moment they have you running to prevent them from embarrassing you in public. You can never predict what a child will say or do.
As a parent, all one hopes for is to raise a responsible human being, so some of these things are considered the joys of life. Here are the most embarrassing things that kids do or say in public:
Have you ever seen a kid picking their nose and their parent doesn’t even notice? As a parent, please show your child how to use a handkerchief instead of their hands. Some even put whatever dirt they pick from their nose and puts it straight in their mouth. Outrightly disgusting!
Last week at the mall, I saw this pretty little girl lifting her dress up and down. She didn’t seem bothered; that’s pure innocence. Teach your child some public etiquette, if they can understand. Alternatively, dress your child in a short or trouser if they do that.
Have you ever gone to visit your friend with your child and in the middle of chatting, your son or daughter disagrees with your conversation and shouts, “Mum you are lying, you said this!”. Very embarrassing situation, if you ask me.
I once visited a friend and in the middle of our chat, her daughter came running to the living room wearing her thong on the head. Need I say how embarrassed she was? One other time, my friends’ niece wore her sanitary pad on her wrist and called it “big plaster”.
This has to be the worst and I was very guilty of it. One time, I think I was about 5 years or so. I started filling in a complete stranger on everything that went down in our house the night before. My mum first winked at me, I didn’t understand. Then she pinched me, I then asked “mummy, why are you pinching me?”.
Little did I know she was just trying to get me to keep my mouth shut.
Has your child ever embarrassed you in public? We’d totally love to hear your stories
