“Will you marry me” Kunle asked on his knees. As she stood over him, a myriad of emotions coursed through her: anger, pain, sadness, joy and relief. She was torn because she could not decide on what answer to give him. The love she used to feel towards him, absent in this very moment.
She knew she had to give an answer soon but could not bring herself to it. She stared at him for a few seconds, the seconds turned to minutes, but she was quite oblivious to the time. It was now or never, this is the moment when ever after began. She looked up to see a lot of people cheering loudly at her to say yes. She had forgotten they were on the road immediately he brought out the ring.
His heart beating wildly, Kunle cursed himself for springing up this question on her in public. He could see the fear and worry on her face and cursed himself even more. Heck!! He would feel the same way if the roles were reversed after everything he had put Sasha through. It would be a miracle if she accepted his ring. The people around were excitedly chattering but he was in a world of his own. All he knew was that he needed this woman for the rest of his life. And he was not going anywhere until she said yes.
They both looked each other in the eye deeply, and in that moment, they knew their answers. The road was going to be a bumpy one, sometimes inaccessible but they had both made up their minds. To fight to the finish. And as Sasha smiled at him and extended her hand, he knew his life was changed forever.
